The Coach

My father-in-law was affectionately called The Coach. He was a fantastic person, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Coach served as a firefighter for 36 years in Calgary and was eventually promoted to the rank of Division Chief. He had a lifelong passion for racehorses and owned both thoroughbred and standardbred horses. The portrait of him was painted using only three colours of paint: Burnt Sienna, Cerulean Blue, and Titanium White. By varying the mix of these colours, I was able to create the range of greys required for the portrait.
